D900 is slightly cheaper but it worked straight out of the box and does everything it says it will do. It also explains the faults (in line with the Jag CD) as well as giving the code. Best 27 euro (including postage) I have spent for a while.

2. BMW 535i owner

This will do the trick. And for only 27 euro.

Works great, I bought one a few months ago because I buy and sell cars quite frequently. It works on my 2008 535i sport. Displays the code number and also gives a written explanation.

For example, on my last scan after a “tighten gas cap” message, even though it was already tightened on displayed the following:
“P0442 – Evaporative Emission system leak detected (small leak)”

Idiagnosed it as a faulty gas cap based on the tighten gas cap message my car gave me prior to scanning with the d900. After installing a new gas cap, I erased the code with the scanner, and its never come back since.
In other words, it worked well!

My d900 has worked with everything I’ve used it for on my 535i. As I said, I’ve never had any issues with mine but I use it for other cars more than my own 535i.

3. Honda Civic & Accord owner

It’s a good reader and I’ve used it many times on my Accord 2.2 diesel and several other vehicles without any major problems (but was a tight fit on the Accord to start with).

I cannot connect it the first few times I used the D900 on my Accord… the socket is a little recessed/obstructed (compared to, say, wife’s Toyota or my mate’s Saab), but when I pushed the plug in and held it with one hand I found it connected OK (make sure you have the ignition on, as well). Since the first couple of uses I’ve had no trouble with the connection, so I guess the trim has moved out the way slightly.

I am very happy with it.

4. A DIYer

I purchased this D900 CAN Scanner for my own personal use. I have used it on three different vehicles so far, a Nissan, Audi, and a Mercedes Benz. Worked great every time. I would definitely recommend this tool for the avid D.I.Y.’er.!

Tips: Configure the Wireless Interface for GM MDI

GM MDI is a multiple wireless diagnostic interface with WIFI, which can be used to perform Pass-Thru programming on almost all vehicles (1996-now). It is one of reputable diagnosis in the markets; meanwhile, users encounter all kinds of problem, like configuring the wireless interface (one of typical problems). And here eobdtool.co.uk technicians offer some possible solutions.

–How to configure the Wireless interface?

· Connect to MDI with USB connection.

· Update the MDI firmware if required

· From the MDI explorer TAB, select the MDI and press the connect button.

· Select the Network Setup TAB.

· Select the ‘Enable Wireless Interface’ box in the Network Setup TAB.

· If using Dynamic IP addresses (DHCP) select the ‘Obtain an IP address automatically’ box.

· If using Static IP address:

o If connecting to the dealer network contact your IT/Network Administrator for IP

settings.

o Select the ‘Use the following IP address’ box.

o Enter the IP address to be used.

o Enter the appropriate Subnet mask.

· Select ‘Access Point’.

· Select ‘Refresh’ to list the SSID’s of the ‘in range’ Access Points available.

· If the SSID of the Access Point is not broadcast or is not in range may be entered manually

by selecting ‘Enter Network Name’ and entering the SSID.

· Select ‘Configure’ and enter the Access Point security information. Select ‘Next’.

 

· Select ‘Apply’.

· Verify settings in Properties tab.

· Signal Quality (fair, good, excellent) indicates the MDI has connected to AP.

· From MDI explorer TAB, select disconnect.

· Unplug the USB connector from the MDI.

· Unplug the wired Ethernet connector from the MDI if present.

· If the MDI, PC and AP are configured properly, the MDI should still appear in the MDI

explorer.

· Select Connect

–When configuring a Wireless interface for the MDI, which authentication and encryption level should be used?

It is necessary to access the AP/Router in order to determine these settings. It some cases you

are required to contact your IT/Network Administrator for this information. Authentication and

encryption level settings are dependent on the Access Point/Router security settings.

–How do I disable the Wireless interface?

· Connect to MDI with USB connection.

· Deselect the ‘Enable Wireless Interface’ box in the Network Setup tab.
